So I've been getting a few questions on Instagram on which photo editing apps I use. Lucky for you, I'm gonna spill the beans right here.
When I first started taking pictures, I drew a lot of my inspiration for different photographers on Instagram. I was often disappointed by the result of my editing. This is all a part of the process and I promise if you keep going, you will get better too. I have definitely seen my progression and I have these apps to thank for my editing!

5. ERASER
The Eraser app is really nice for YouTubers or content/graphic creators. This app allows you to remove the background, or any desired portion of you photo. It's really good for having different backgrounds for a photo you like or creating thumbnails for your YouTube channel! There are so many uses for the this app and it gives you the tools usually only available in Photoshop!.
4. VSCO (X)
VSCO is one of the best photo apps out there. If you can opt in for the X version then I recommend doing so because you can adjust the hues of selected colors -- a feature that resembles Lightroom CC -- and it really allows you a lot more freedom. It gives you the capability to turn an 'OKAY' picture to something that's really nice. If you can't afford to upgrade to the X then the free version is really good as well. The filters are really nice and totally customizable so definitely them out! You can also save your 'recipes' to use for future photos as well!
3. SNAPSEED
This app is really amazing. It has a lot of great features that stands out compared to other apps. One being the portrait feature, which picks up on faces and allows you to change the exposure, skin texture, and eye visibility of the subject. Another great feature of this app is that you can select specific parts of a photo to alter -- another feature normally only possible with Lightroom. There are so many features of this app that are amazing.
2. AFTERLIGHT
This is probably the best affordable photo editing app on the market. It's only $2.99 and the possibilities are endless. You can adjust selective color hues, you can add that vintage dust vibe to your photo, you can add light leak filters, and so much more. I used to make my own dust in photoshop but the process what tedious. Now, with Afterlight, my photo editing is quick, painless, and I don't have to crack open my laptop to get that vintage edit.
1. LIGHTROOM
And now, the best for last, Lightroom. Lightroom is very versatile and you can create presets, erase selected parts of images, edit selected parts of images, create albums, use synced presets from the desktop version, and so much more! I pretty much use Lightroom for everything now but I do you Afterlight for finishing touches to images (i.e. dust or light leak filters). Typically you can get Lightroom and Photoshop for $9.99 a month. I personally use the Adobe Package with a student discount of $19.99 a month. It's expensive but I think it's totally worth it to have the applications that make branding and design so much easier!
Hope this helps y'all!
XOXO,
Benjaminn
